body type and body image - what to wear to dress for your in
|
Tricky body type. But, what you can do is this:
1) for your suit (just in case you need to go out for a party that requires you wear one), opt for a jacket that has prominent shoulder pads. This will help balance your body. Avoid jackets with vents (especially the center vent). For your pants, do plain/flat front pants. They tend to make u look slimmer below. 2)For your shirts, I believe that shirts with long tails will do nicely to cover your butt. Also, wear shirts with horizontal stripes, in light colors. Your pants should be mainly in light colors. 3) If this doesn't work, then I don't know what will. go and have fun. |

It's whats underneath that counts...
|
The right underwear is key... I also love layering on top. A cami underneath a cute top is great and gives you extra support and makes you FEEL better. I buy
Crush Camis from crushclothing.us that are extra long (so they don't
ride up) and they come in every color you would ever need.

A body type site that can help
|
www.shopyourshape.com is a site that I used to help me figure out what my body shape is and how to dress for my body. They have a body type calculator (or you can just figure out what your body type is based on desc if you don't know your measurements) and pictures and descriptions of clothing that is flattering on different body types. Hope this helps |

Try clothes that emphasize your shoulders with horizontal lines, like a wide neckline, yoked shirt, or something with a horizontal seam above or below the
bustline.
At the hips, use darker colors, and skim, don't cling. (Meaning wear clothes that are not too tight but not too bulky.) Remember that you are beautiful. If you carry yourself with dignity, that makes all the difference. |

I would guess that the "pear-shaped" figure is the most common in the US. So you're in good company! One look I LOVE for this figure type is the
short babydoll dress with boot-cut or flare jeans. This way, you don't have a top ending right at the hips, where you don't need a horizontal line. The
boot-cut jean slims the hips and thighs.
