How do women feel about men wearing pantyhose? |
Lead | |
|
This question is not for men who crossdress, but men who enjoy wearing pantyhose as an alternative to underwear and socks.

GEEZ! Why are there so many MEN here posting about wearing pantyhose on a WOMEN'S fashion board? YUCK!
You know, I HAVE to wear them for work moreso now and can't find any style magazines to help. And all of the fashion websites I've gone to so far seem more full of "creepy" people. Personally, I think it's gross. I wouldn't want my man wearing my clothes. I don't care what the reason. But, whatever floats your boat, I guess. |

Creepy? | ||
|
If it's "creepy" for me to wear pantyhose, then is it "creepy" for a woman to wear one of my dress shirts or shorts? Is it "creepy" for a woman to wear a pair of my boxers? What about women who wear slacks or jeans? That used to be a big fashion no no.
Grow up and remember how many fashion changes men have accepted for women and do the same for us. |

Grow up?! Hey, the topic asked how women feel about men wearing pantyhose! I gave my answer. Gee, sorry it's not appealing to me, girlfriend. I don't find masculine guys in effeminate clothing appealing. Makes me think he's maybe liking it too much. Why don't you grow up and DEAL WITH IT.
And if culture finds women appealing in pants and men's shirts, then too bad. That's the way it goes. Maybe you can hope powdered wigs and knickers will come back, then you can wear your pretty silk stockings to your heart's content. LOL |

Doesn't make sense to me. But to each his own I guess.
I wear pantyhose almost daily to work and can't wait to get home to rip them off. They do compliment my legs and they complete an outfit, but they certaily have their drawbacks. They are hot in the summer, cold in the winter, they are expensive, and we haven't even touched on the control-top issues. For a man claim they are wearing them for comfort is a puzzle to me. |

Erica Bauld, what color is the sky in your world? You're the one that needs to DEAL WITH IT! Plain and simple, pantyhose just aren't for women anymore. Hosiery for men is a fashion trend that is really taking off, and it's taking the world by storm. You can either jump on and enjoy the ride or crawl back under your rock. Wearing pantyhose doesn't make a man feminine or gay. Wolford, in Europe, has a line of tights and pantyhose designed for men, as does Active Skin (Comfilon) here in the U.S., and LeVee in Canada. Men have legs just as good-looking, if not better looking than ours and they're only enhanced and even look sexier when they're clad in pantyhose (minus the hair of course). It may not be something you like, but don't put others down for it. Lots of guys have long hair and earrings nowadays; they're not just for girls either. So, like the previous post said, "Grow up!" Men don't have to wait for powdered wigs and knickers to come back in style to wear tights and hose--the trend is here and I think it's here to stay!

Re: Response to Creepy?

Amen to everything you said, acully1010! Pantyhose on men shouldn't be considered creepy. After all, they're just socks that happen to go all the way up to the waist. Women took the idea from men in the first place, after they'd been wearing tights under their clothing for centuries. Mens' legs do look sensual and captivating in hose! What I find creepy is that girls are now demanding lingerie in "boys cut" styles. To me, that's ridiculous. And who said we women look sexier in a man's dress shirt than in frilly lingerie and a dress? We should celebrate our femininity and dress like we mean it. However, if the trend for women now-a-days is to emulate men, why can't men wear unisex clothing, or even clothing bordering on effeminate, without being put down for it?

Jolene59,
Thank you for your words of support! I wish more thought like you and were more accepting of those of us that like to wear clothing of both sexes. |

Can we focus on something a little bigger? Like a President
|
'Scuse me, but in the scheme of things, can't we focus on issues a little bigger than a pantyhose fetish???
Like a president who is accepting, supporting, and truthful of other people's values, needs, and preferences and the personal choices that they make? Who cares if some guy wants to wear pantyhose or some girl likes it or not when we live on a country where our leader needs to be lead away. VOTE! |

Geekshot, there are probably hundreds of forums out there that focus on politics and the upcoming U.S. Election. If you want to discuss politics or plug a certain candidate, go to one of those sites and stop trying to steer this discussion on pantyhose away from its original topic! One of the benefits of living in the U.S. is that we have the freedom to enjoy life's little pleasures. If pantyhose happens to be something others enjoy, even though it may seem trivial to you, don't start labeling us fetishists. By the way, we have a decent president who is trying to lead. What we don't need is someone who flip-flops on the issues, trying to take control of the oval office. Kerry is just a big bag of hot air!

Mens legs in pantyhose | ||
|
Just to get this topic going again, I just want to say that guys in pantyhose are hot! In a high school (late '70s) assembly I performed a dance routine with a male classmate who had to wear tights as part of his costume. He looked awesome and received a lot of compliments afterward. The way he looked stirred up a lot of emotion in me. I determined then and there that I would encourage my boyfriends (and eventually my husband) to break through the stereotypes and proudly wear tights and pantyhose. Men have great-looking legs--why not show them off?

Sheen V,
Since this is a poll and not a forum, I don't really want to go into further detail here. Suffice to say that although people like lalaloo and Erica Bauld are certainly entitled to their negative opinions, I think they've got blinders on! It's time for them to grow up and realize that this is only finely knit, sheer socks we're talking about. There's nothing about a guy wearing pantyhose that makes him queer, weird, gay, bi, or anything else. Who really defines what "normal" is? Fashion is constantly changing anyway, and things that used to be unheard of are now perfectly acceptable. Would we women really like to go back to wearing just skirts and dresses? Since the '60s we've stolen half our wardrobe from men so let's cut them some slack! |

Enough with this freakin' question... put it to rest... this is a fashion board, NOT a fetish board!

Hey acully1010, if the democrats are about choice... guess your freedom of choice to wear pantyhose just got BUSHwacked!
It's the Dem/Kerry "hot air" that would have given you the right to choose to be you... now, think about it before that gets taken away with every other right the Repo-Repubs want to chip away. |
